GET TO KNOW YOU TOO MUCH- GTKYTM.

If there's one thing that I'm afraid of is GTKYTM.  There are some people out in the world that shares way too much personal information about themselves and sometimes their significant others.

I'm not saying I'm against sharing information,  but too much of it.  Some people live off of knowing every little details about your life.  Some people live happier knowing very little about your life.

Some need a little of both.

GTKYTM is becoming a problem in the United States especially now that we're in the mobile digital age.  Majority of most Americans report that they have a Facebook account.  And if they don't,  you can be sure that today's teenagers will sign up and have an Instagram account (which again is owned by Facebook).

GTKYTM is when overload of your personal information is share publicly without the need of strict permission.  In other words,  Facebook allows you to bypass that by allowing you to share everything and just too much of anything.  Including allowing users and potential employer to research about what you like and dislikes.

Yet,  we have reach the point where Americans just can't help themselves and they have a need to know what's going on or must need to know more about a specific individual.  It's not exactly a disease; yet,  it's not exact an epidemic either.

GTKYTM need a fair and balanced approach.  How that should be implemented should be discovered with an open discussion between all walks of life,  yet,  it should be blunt as well.

Simple.

Keep it as a "on a need to know" mentality should do the trick

Blogging is harder than you think. Especially when you're busy.

Yes, I have the entire summer off and yes, it should make blogging easier, but tell you the truth, it doesn't. Once people know that you have the summer off, they instantly know that you're free to do two things and two things only: come and visit them or they come and visit you. Sometimes, it get even worse than that. Sometimes, you have friends or family that come unannounced. Those are the time killers!

This week I decided to give Facebook Ad a try. Not for for myself or for my blog, but rather as a beta test to see how well Facebook Ad works in getting new fans for a particular fan page that I’m not inclined to identify. Working on a extremely tight budget, it was decided that I would not spend more than $1.50 a day for advertising on Facebook. Since this test would only last a week, that would mean that I would not spend more than $10 dollars for the test. Here’s the results:
marketing
Quite frankly, I was surprised with the results since the results were mixed. The number of impressions that we got was significantly high, however, the number of clicks were significantly low.  There were four different ads. One ran for one week only and then the other three ran for single days only.

Some of the ads were quite simple; while others were pretty creative as well.

With all the impressions that we were able to get with the limited amount allocated, the ad was only able to generate five (5) clicks and two (2) new fans. Like I mentioned before, not a significant amount, but still impressive.

My next test will to be to have just one ad running, but to change the information on the ad on a daily basis rather than to have four different ads with four different statements.

With that in mind, the next test confirmed my theory. It is way better to outreach using one ad, but to change the ad on a daily basis rather than to have four different ads running at the same time. Take a look at the stats below:
stat 1
stat 2

In terms of stat/impression, it did the most:
stat 3

Now, one thing: I’m happy I put a limit on how much I spent for the ad. No more than $10. That’s not bad for at least 50,000 impressions!
Ummm, I wonder if this is too much information?

Yup. You read that right. Whoops! Mark Zuckerberg did it again! Even it if it was off the record and said by an employee, heresy, can be quite informative as well. Well, in my earlier post, Wired.com, wrote about an off the record with an employee. Check out the converstation below:

Also interesting is how this came about: Not in a proper article, but in a tweet by Nick Bilton, lead technology blogger for the The New York Times‘ Bits Blog, based on a conversation he says was “off the record” and which he may have confused with “not for attribution.”
“Off record chat w/ Facebook employee,” begins Bilton’s fateful tweet. “Me: How does Zuck feel about privacy? Response: [laughter] He doesn’t believe in it.”
Ouch.
Ouch, indeed. It's get better. Today, Facebook top notch dudes, got to meet some very influential members of various staff of Congress to address the ongoing privacy issues and who do you think is specifically targeted the most? That's right.

Facebook.
Facebook officials today met with the staff of U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, who has publicly called on the social networking site to tighten its privacy policies.
Facebook spokesman Andrew Noyes confirmed today's meeting and called it "a productive conversation."
Well, we all hope that it was productive, if not, well, I hope that Mark Zuckerberg isn't singing, "Opps, I did it again!". Please, someone, delete that image from my delicate brain!
